Noel And Mary: A Bipolar Love

About the Book

Noel is a young black man who is trying to find himself in a confusing world of drugs, sex, and identity upheaval. He is content to hang out with his friends, arguing about the existence of God, and listening to music, trying to avoid the reality and responsibility of growing up as at the same time he philosophically muses about the events which have shaped him and contemplates what the future holds. Mary, his mysterious girlfriend, flits in and out of his life like a hummingbird. In one short college semester she managed to ruin Noels life with her antics and nearly put him out of commission for another two, then sneaked back into his life just when he thought he was getting it all together. As Noel shares his innermost thoughts with us, Mr. Roberts subtly relates a personal commentary on life and society through the belief systems of one mans tortured psyche.
