Colors the Love chronicles the author's extraordinary perspectives having been raised under the crushing heel of apartheid in South Africa prior to her first year-long visit with her husband and three children to the United States. Having only known the harsh and unforgiving social climate of South Africa, with equal parts great excitement and trepidation, the author joined her husband as he accepted a research study position in Vermont.

Amazed by the stark contrast in the treatment she receives by her new friends and total strangers, she only then began to fully understand the magnitude of the horrendous racism she encountered daily back home. Upon her return to Africa, further forays into the poorest and most heavily stricken areas of Kenya enlightens the author to the significant role politics and corruption play in subjugating the most vulnerable of people. Offering prescient insights and theories, the author presents a thought-provoking submission from a most unique perspective.
