Drinks of Living Water: Walking with Jesus the Messiah
by Dr. Kathleen Ware Harris

Drinks of Living Water: Walking with Jesus the Messiah by Dr. Kathleen Ware Harris is a collection of personal meditations and reflections that come from spending time with the Lord as she lived her life and traveled the world. In 1999, she began writing them and emailing them to friends. To quote the author, "Deliberately taking time to spend in prayer and meditation, helps us to know the Lord." It is her hope that the reader will find inspiration and support in their own spiritual walk with God in Jesus Christ.

About the Author:

A former Air Force intelligence officer born in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Harris has a B.A. in Teaching Russian with minors in Russian and East European Area Studies and in French from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She became a pastor in the United Methodist Church in 1996 after being granted a Master of Divinity degree in Urban Ministry and a Master of Theological Studies in Ethics and Public Policy from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. After serving three rural churches near Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, she was given the opportunity to reach out to former Soviet immigrants in the Baltimore-Washington area. A fellowship called Grace Russian United Methodist Church grew out of these efforts.

Over the years, Dr. Harris performed mission work in Eurasia, mostly in territory formerly part of the Soviet Union including spending five months in Astana, Kazakhstan in 2005, and spending one to three months at a time working with pastors and seminary students in Moscow, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, Russia, between 1993 and 2012. She earned a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Missional Evangelism in 2011 by developing a seminar in Russian on basic Christian spiritual practices from the Wesleyan perspective for the United Methodist Church of the Eurasian Area.

As a pastor, evangelist, spiritual director, and missionary, her goal is to help people through preaching, teaching and writing Bible studies, devotionals and other inspirational materials to open their hearts to the Lord in deeper ways. Through Living Waters Prayer Ministries she also leads contemplative prayer retreats.
