by Justin Eikenberry
We cannot know with any certainty what life has in store for us. Despite this unknowing and the surprises we encounter, there are many feelings, experiences, and revelations that we all share in common, that we all experience at one time or another, in one form or another. In the midst of resounding doubt and pain, despair and isolation, love and joy and elation, it’s comforting to know that we are not alone in this experience. Although each experience is unique and personal to the one living the moment, we know that others have passed through hardship and moved on, that they can provide a shoulder to lean on or a word of advice from their own experience.
It is this knowledge of a life lived with pain and joy, in love and despair, that Justin Eikenberry shares in the poetic verse of Providence Path. Exploring the twists and turns that we travel on life’s journey, a path that may have been predestined for us but nonetheless prepares us for the future, Eikenberry’s poignant, reflective, and insightful poems show that we all share these very human emotions and that there is a lesson worth learning that will make the difficulties worthwhile.
