Gerald has written movie reviews and features for several New York publications as well as plays for off-Broadway. He has also appeared in community theatre in upstate New York. When asked what prompted him to write this book, he replied, I have always been an avid movie fan. I am a big Oscar devotee and have won many annual Oscar contests. Each year, for fun, my kids and I see all the nominated movies, hold our private Oscar contest and vie for our own family award.
