by Rev. Emile R. Guilmette, S.M.
Twenty Steps on the Way to Glory: A Book of Biblical Meditations on the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary was written under the inspiration of our Holy Father Pope John Paul II, specifically in response to his devotion to our Blessed Mother, his faithful daily recitation of the rosary, and his declaration of the Year of the Rosary in 2002. The rosary has been a treasured spiritual instrument for ordinary people since the Middle Ages, and its practice cultivates meditative reflection on the events of our salvation through Jesus Christ.
Rev. Emile Guilmette, S.M.ís devotional consideration is designed to enhance our appreciation of the mysteries of salvation and the ministry of the Virgin Mary and the disciples of Jesus. In doing so he leads the reader through reflective, scripturally-based discussions of the joyful mysteries of Christís life prior to his public ministry; the luminous mysteries of the three years of Jesusí teaching; the sorrowful mysteries of Holy Week; and the glorious mysteries of the Resurrection and Assumption.
Twenty Steps on the Way to Glory: A Book of Biblical Meditations on the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary explores Christís mission in our daily lives and emphasizes the role of His mother as a model of faithful devotion.
